How NOT To Get Your Ex Girlfriend Back

Nice guys finish last right? One big mistake I see a lot of men making when trying to get their ex girlfriend back is the tendency to want to be the nice guy all the time. Yes it’s definitely encouraged while you’re in a relationship with your girl. You should certainly be the nice guy and treat her like a queen.

The problem comes when you’re no longer in a relationship and yet, you STILL treat her like a queen.

Some men do this subconsciously and deep down they believe being the nice guy will somehow make their girl want them back again. This can backfire a great deal “especially” if you were always a nice guy to begin with.

Your ex girlfriend might not be helpful in this respect either. If she is used to you doing everything for her, she might still expect those things from you after the break up; especially if you are still very close to one another.

This is the biggest mistake I see men making and it is perhaps even WORSE than appearing desperate and needy (although they certainly come a very close second).

That might shock you but by jumping to your girl’s every command, you are first telling her, you are just fine with being treated like a doormat and you’ll be there for her whether you’re her boyfriend or not. Second, now she believes there is NO urgency at all for her to come back, and in fact if you are going to treat her this well, she can take her time picking and choosing her next boy toy to play with.

Harsh but true.

Be a man and put your foot down. Stop lending her money every time she asks. Stop doing favours for her she could easily do herself or get someone else to do instead. Stop being at her beg and call just because she might be feeling blue one day and needs some cheering up.

Unavailability will be a slap in the face for her but it will also show you’re not her doormat. It’s a way to show you have some backbone but done in a way that is “classy” and respectable.

The exception of course is that if it’s a critical situation and you are the ONLY one she can turn to, then use your best judgement and don’t turn her down in those special circumstances. You are not her enemy or are you trying to teach her a lesson. You are only setting boundaries to your new relationship and that is all.

Is It Too Late?

One of the greatest concern a guy will have when trying to get an ex girlfriend back is time slipping away and with it, the chance to get her back. In fact sayings like “absence makes the heart grow fonder” is countered also with “out of sight out of mine”, so sure enough, many are confused and want answers as to whether this invisible “timer” is really doing harm or good.

Sometimes it’s easier for an ex to drop subtle hints about reconciliation rather than coming right out with it. It also has to do with the case of “being wrong”. If she’s having second thoughts but only a few weeks ago, raving about her certainly to not be with you, she might feel silly now if she is begging to come back.
